EXMOUTH BUSINESS AWARDS 

A platform to celebrate local business

Back for 2025, the Exmouth Business Awards aims to shine a light on all the good things happening in our town, and provide a platform for local businesses to celebrate and support each other. It is free to enter and open to members/ non members. All you need to do is click the 'enter now' link to complete your application. 


Key dates for 2025: 

  • 26th March - at Franklin's - AGM & Awards launch

  • 21st May - awards themed networking event with tips for entries

  • 6th June - entries close

  • 26th June - shortlist announced & ticket sales open

  • 14th September - ticket sales close

  • 26th September - main black tie event at Ocean

2025 Categories and criteria

Any organisation in Exmouth, or nearby with a vested interest in the community of Exmouth can enter.

Independent
Retailer
of the Year

Must be located in Exmouth or services Exmouth. Does not need a shop premise.

This category aims to recognise Exmouth’s wealth of independent retailers that provide independent products/ services and make their customers feel welcome.  

Supporting evidence - applications without these will not be considered (as a guide 150-200 words per area) 

  • Description of services/ products 

  • Key objectives of the business  

  • Plans for future growth 

  • Customer testimonials 

  • Feedback from staff 

Community Project or Charity of the Year

Must be a not-for-profit group or individual 

This category is for organisations who have stepped up in the community, to champion their initiative and help the people of Exmouth or look after Exmouth’s environment.  

Supporting evidence - applications without these will not be considered (as a guide 150-200 words per area) 

  • Details on key objectives 

  • Information about campaigns 

  • Innovation to reach the community 

  • Fundraising results (if applicable) 

  • Feedback from users and evidence of impact for service provided 

Beauty or Wellbeing Business of the Year

Must be any size business in the beauty or well-being industry 

This category highlights businesses in a popular industry, focusing on providing beauty, health or wellbeing services, products or experiences for visitors and locals.  

Supporting evidence - applications without these will not be considered (as a guide 150-200 words per area) 

  • Description of services/ products 

  • Details of customer service with treatments/ experience in setting 

  • Key objectives of the business  

  • Plans for future growth

  • Feedback from staff 

Start Up
Business of the Year

Must be less than one year old as of 1st April 2025  

This category is open to businesses and organisations from all sectors who are just starting and looking to grow. It looks to recognise initiative and courage to start a new company.  

Supporting evidence - applications without these will not be considered (as a guide 150-200 words per area) 

  • Description of services/ products 

  • Key objectives 

  • Plans for future growth 

  • Information on benefits the new business will have for the town 

  • Customer feedback 

Small
Business of the Year

Must have less than 10 permanent staff 

This category is open to businesses across all sectors with ten employees or less. From solopreneurs to small teams, this category aims to uplift independent businesses and their efforts throughout the last year.  

Supporting evidence - applications without these will not be considered (as a guide 150-200 words per area) 

  • Description of services/ products 

  • Customer feedback 

  • Details of business journey  

  • Details on innovation and quality of service 

Medium/ Large
Business of the Year

Must have more than 10 permanent staff

This category is open to businesses across all sectors with over ten employees. This category aims to uplift independent businesses and their efforts throughout the last year.

  • Details on innovation and quality of service 

Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Must be younger than 30 as of 1st April 2025

This award looks to recognise the achievements of young people who start their own businesses or who progress through existing job roles to own or lead a business.

Digital Impact of the Year

The organisation must be based in Exmouth or service Exmouth  

This category is open to businesses from all sectors who have increased their marketing efforts and contributed to their social community online through social media or eCommerce.

  • Description of organisation and brand  

  • Information of any innovation  

  • Statistics of the reach of content

Hospitality Business of the Year

The organisation must be based in Exmouth or service Exmouth  

This category is open to businesses in the tourism and hospitality sectors, that provide experiences for visitors and local people.
